Job Description

JOB TITLE: Controls Engineer - Robotics 
LOCATION: Manassas, VA
PAY RATE: Up to $51/hour

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Job Details:

  • Job Type: Contract (12 months with potential for extension)

  • Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 10-hour shifts

Qualifying Questions:

Summary: 

  • Design and implement robotic automation solutions to improve manufacturing efficiency

  • Program and integrate Fanuc and Epson robots with PLCs and existing production systems

  • Troubleshoot, optimize, and maintain automated systems for maximum uptime and throughput

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on process improvements and automation opportunities

  • Create and maintain technical documentation for robotic systems

  • Support machine tending operations and automation of manual stations

  • Drive lean manufacturing and Six Sigma practices across automation efforts

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering field

  • 5+ years of experience in robotics or automation, preferably in high-volume, low-mix manufacturing

  • 4–6 years of hands-on experience with:

    • PLC programming and controls integration

    • Industrial robotics (Fanuc and Epson highly preferred)

  • Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and SPC methodologies

  • Proven ability to drive efficiency, uptime, and productivity improvements

  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and team collaboration skills

  • Six Sigma (Green Belt or higher)

  • Lean Manufacturing

  • Statistical Process Control (SPC)

  • Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).
