Job Title: Composite Stress Engineer - Aerospace

Required Skills:

• Minimum 5 years or more of applicable experience in the analysis of structural systems using strength of materials and finite element-based methods

• FEMAP, composite structures, hand calc exp, hypersizer, CATIA V5

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution, with a concentration in a relevant Engineering discipline

• Experience in aircraft or spacecraft composite fabrication, design, and analysis processes

• Knowledge of composites manufacturing and sizing of composite structures using FEA models, including pre and post processing of NASTRAN models and associated sizing of composite structures. 

• Proficiency in FEMAP.

• Experience with free-body diagrams and classical stress analysis techniques. 

• Hand calc exp. 

• Hypervisor exp. 

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills

• Excellent computer skills, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

• Applicants must be U.S. persons as defined by the ITAR (22 CFR º120.15)

Desired Skills:

• Hands-on experience with composites part fabrication and assembly processes a plus. 

• Experience with the design of flight vehicles or vehicle systems to a set of requirements or standards such as CFR 14, Part 400, Part 23 and 25, military or NASA are highly desired

• Pilot, aircraft homebuilding and rapid prototyping experience a strong plus.

• Experience with manufacturing-based ERP systems, such as Oracle, is a plus.
