Job Description

JOB TITLE: Composite Technician 
LOCATION: Mojave, CA
PAY RATE: $35-40/hour

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Job Details:

Qualifying Questions:

Summary: 

  • Fabricate parts using wet layup and pre-impregnated composite materials.

  • Properly prepare tooling for layup (clean, seal, release).

  • Place and consolidate composite materials in tooling.

  • Perform grinding, cutting, and trimming of parts.

  • Operate composite-specific equipment, including ovens, Gerber cutting machines, and Virtek laser systems.

  • Bond composite structures and hand-finish parts to proper fitment.

  • Work with multiple resin systems and fabrics in wet layup applications.

  • Locate parts and create fixtures using blueprints and/or engineering instructions.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED

  • 3+ years’ experience in composites or aircraft fabrication and assembly (preferred).

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to self-inspect work and mitigate quality defects.

  • Solid safety mindset, including proper handling of hazardous materials, chemicals, and tools.

  • Hands-on manufacturing experience.

  • Ability to repair composite structures.

  • Familiarity with quality inspection points and process documentation.

  • Knowledge of resins, mixing ratios, and paste mixes.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
