JOB TITLE: Coating Technician
LOCATION: New Orleans, LA
PAY RATE: $26.00 - 37.00/hour

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Qualifying Questions:

Summary: 

  • Applies organic coatings to meet corrosion protection and appearance requirements using brush, roll, and spray application methods.

  • Performs organic chemical conversion and paint preparation for flight hardware.

  • Reads and interprets engineering drawings and process work instructions to align work with engineering intent.

  • Performs vacuum bonding of Thermal Protective Systems on flight hardware.

  • Performs mechanical bonding of Thermal Protective Systems on flight hardware.

  • Applies Thermal Protective Systems through spray application methods.

  • Applies Thermal Protective Systems through pour application methods.

  • Interprets drawings and process documents for coating and bonding operations.

  • Follows assigned safety guidelines and procedures for hazardous materials handling.

  • Works with vacuum and mechanical bonding techniques for thermal protection systems.

Requirements:

  • Ability to Obtain a Secret Security Clearance

  • Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Experience interpreting engineering drawings and process work instructions.

  • Experience applying organic coatings using brush, roll, and spray methods.

  • Experience with organic chemical conversion and paint preparation processes.

  • Experience with vacuum and mechanical bonding of Thermal Protective Systems.

  • Experience applying Thermal Protective Systems using spray and pour methods.

  • Ability to follow hazardous materials handling and safety procedures per Government regulations.
