JOB TITLE: CNC Machining Technician - DEFENSE
LOCATION: Orlando, FL
PAY RATE: $27.45/hour

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Qualifying Questions:

Summary: 

  • Set up and operate CNC machines to fabricate precision aerospace components

  • Interpret and work from mechanical drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications

  • Utilize G & M code programming to support machining operations

  • Operate manual shop equipment including press, shear, band saws, grinders, knee mills, and lathes

  • Support fabrication of prototype and development parts using steel, aluminum, and composite materials

  • Collaborate with shop supervisors and internal customers to prioritize and schedule tasks

  • Communicate job status and progress updates as required

  • Work in a team-oriented environment to meet competing project demands and deadlines

Requirements:

  • Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance

  • Minimum 3+ years of experience with CNC programming and machining operations

  • Experience in technical fabrication, including metal fabrication, mechanical assembly, and composites

  • Hands-on experience using manual machining tools (knee mill, band saw, lathe, hand tools)

  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical documentation

  • Proficiency in a Windows-based environment (MS Office Suite for communication, scheduling, and data tracking)

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, with additional technical training (Associate degree or equivalent experience preferred)

  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and resolve scheduling conflicts

  • Flexibility to work overtime, evenings, weekends, and onsite daily

  • Must be a U.S. citizen to comply with security clearance requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with CAD/CAM tools such as CATIA, Creo/Pro-E

  • Knowledge of GD&T and Mil-Spec standards

  • Advanced experience working with various metals, including layout, cutting, bending, and forming

  • Understanding of product development processes from concept through production
