JOB TITLE: C-17 Aircraft Maintenance Technician - DEFENSE
LOCATION: 
Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA
PAY RATE: $47.78/hour

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Qualifying Questions:

Summary: 

  • Assemble, disassemble, or modify aerospace vehicle systems and components to correct failures or implement changes.

  • Oversee assembly, disassembly, and overhaul processes.

  • Configure aerospace vehicles and bench test equipment.

  • Troubleshoot complex pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems to isolate faults and repair components.

  • Perform validation/verification testing of systems and components.

  • Document procedures, repairs, test results, and inspections for contractual and regulatory compliance.

  • Inspect components and verify repairs meet flight-worthiness standards.

  • Provide training and guidance to less experienced personnel.

  • Work under general supervision and follow established processes.

  • Maintain qualification/certification and pass Ground Operations Personnel (GOP) and air respirator medical physicals.

Requirements:

  • Ability to obtain U.S. Secret Clearance (interim or final post-start). U.S. Citizenship required

  • High School diploma/GED plus 4+ years of related work experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience (vocational school/Associate + 2 years, or Bachelor’s degree).

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working at heights using fall protection equipment (weight limit ≤225 lb).

  • 3+ years’ experience reading, understanding, and interpreting basic engineering drawings and technical specifications.

  • 3+ years’ experience identifying hazardous working conditions and ensuring workplace safety.

  • 3+ years’ experience in repair, maintenance, and retrofit processes and practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with live aircraft operations, including pneumatic, hydraulic, structural, electrical, and propulsion systems.

  • Minimum 3 years’ C-17 platform experience preferred.

  • Ability to read and interpret C-17 blueprints and USAF Technical Orders.

  • Multi-system operations, maintenance, and repair experience.

  • Ability to work safely within complex schedules and establish procedures for high-quality, productive work.
