JOB TITLE: Avionics Software Engineer
LOCATION: Tustin, CA
PAY RATE: $80-90/hour

Summary: 

• Develop, test, and maintain C and C++ embedded software for aerospace systems

• Work on aerospace software projects, including safety-critical applications

• Design, implement, and validate networking functionality, including Ethernet packet generation and parsing

• Develop C++ S-functions in MATLAB/Simulink and integrate with flight simulators or simulation tools

• Ensure compliance with safety-critical embedded system standards and FAA/industry regulations

• Collaborate with internal teams and suppliers to support system design, testing, and documentation

• Participate in software design reviews, audits, and verification activities

• Create and maintain technical documentation, including Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and software requirements

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering or related engineering discipline from an accredited university, or equivalent combination of work experience and education

• Proficiency in C and C++ embedded software

• Experience with aerospace software projects

• Knowledge of networking, including Ethernet packet generation and parsing

• Experience with MATLAB and Simulink, including developing C++ S-functions

• 6+ years of software development in aerospace or related fields

• Experience with safety-critical embedded systems hardware and software

• Experience with IP networking and network packet generation/parsing

• Strong organizational and written communication skills

• Applicants must be U.S. persons as defined by ITAR (22 CFR §120.15)

Desired Skills:

• Experience with Interface Control Documents (ICDs)

• Familiarity with XidML standard and INEA-formatted data

• Experience with flight simulators

• Skilled in creating written documentation

• Experience using Atlassian software suite, including JIRA, Bitbucket (Git), Confluence, and Crucible
