JOB TITLE: Avionics Installation Technician
LOCATION: Crestview, FL
PAY RATE: $39.61/hour

Qualifying Questions:

Summary: 

  • Installs, routes, terminates, and tests electrical cables and harnesses on C-130J aircraft including Fiber Optic, 1553 Data Bus, RF Cables, Twinax, Triax, Quadrax, and Ethernet Cables.

  • Removes and installs aircraft components as required for modification and maintenance tasks.

  • Interprets engineering drawings and blueprints such as electrical wiring diagrams, routing drawings, and harness assembly drawings.

  • Reads and interprets manufacturers' maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of install or modification.

  • Uses and applies hand tools, power tools, work stands, support equipment, and special tools or calibrated test equipment.

  • Comprehends safety rules, operating maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals for task execution.

  • Performs wire harness fabrication, routing, installation, and testing on military or commercial aircraft.

  • Performs continuity checks, termination processes, and ensures proper installation of electrical systems per standard processes.

  • Interprets installation drawings, understands symbols, flags, and general notes for electrical modifications.

  • Works with Fiber Optic, 1553 Data Bus, RF, Twinax, Triax, Quadrax, and Ethernet cables for avionics and electrical systems.

Requirements:

  • Ability to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance with U.S. Citizenship required.

  • Minimum four (4) years of avionics experience in Communications, Navigations, Guidance Control, Electronic Warfare, or Electro or Environmental fields.

  • Minimum or equivalent of a USAF 7-Level (Craftsman) or equivalent.

  • Ability to read and interpret aircraft electrical drawings, diagrams, and blueprints.

  • Experience with heavy avionics or electrical systems wire routing and installation.

  • Experience with military or commercial aircraft modification installation including wire harness installation and checkout procedures.

  • Ability to interpret installation drawings, install and route electrical cable assemblies, and perform multiple termination processes.

  • Ability to perform continuity checks in accordance with standard processes.

  • Preferred: Experience on C-130J aircraft and active Secret Security Clearance.
