Job Description

JOB TITLE: Avionics/Electrical Technician IV
LOCATION: Savannah, GA
PAY RATE: $36.04/hour

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Summary: 

  • Demonstrates advanced technical skills in avionics systems testing and troubleshooting

  • Instructs and mentors others in the installation and functional testing of electrical/avionics components per engineering specifications, drawings, and manuals

  • Ensures quality and efficiency in installations and trains others in effective troubleshooting and repair techniques

  • Performs repairs and replacements of defective components and wiring using approved practices (e.g., splicing, soldering, pinning)

  • Oversees implementation of engineering changes and modifications

  • Operates and maintains necessary test equipment, conducting functional and operational performance tests

  • Maintains accurate daily logs and documentation; ensures all work is properly recorded

  • Pre-inspects work of others prior to final inspection to minimize rework and delays

  • Provides expertise in the testing and maintenance of test equipment and electronic systems

  • Enforces compliance with FOD, tool control, 5S, and all company safety programs

  • Adapts to schedule changes and coordinates effectively across disciplines

  • May participate in flight tests and aircraft certification activities

  • Performs self-inspection of avionics testing tasks as required

  • Supports and teaches cross-functional skills in related aircraft systems (e.g., hydraulics, flight controls, environmental systems)

  • APU and engine run qualification preferred

  • Reads and interprets basic blueprints and schematics

Requirements:

 

  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • Six (6) years of experience in an avionics/electrical career field; or two (2) years of accredited schooling in aviation electronics plus four (4) years of related experience

  • A&P (FAA Airframe and Powerplant) license preferred

  • FCC license preferred

  • NCATT certification preferred

  • Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).
