JOB TITLE: Assembly Technician - Solder JSTD

Qualifying Questions:

Summary: 

• Inspect and align parts under a microscope before and after soldering.

• Identify and correct solder defects, including voids, bridges, shorts, and misalignments.

• Operate Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) equipment to detect real vs. false defects.

• Read and follow assembly instructions and identify standard SMT components.

• Perform rework using hot air pencils, hot plates, and BGA removal tools (ERSA or similar).

• Solder and secure jumper wires on redesign boards (preferred).

• Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with potential overtime.

• Maintain focus on detailed, repetitive tasks while seated for extended periods.

Requirements:

• Candidate must be an expert-level solder technician or operator with hands-on experience using rework equipment and working with surface mount components.

• Minimum of 5 years of soldering experience in a manufacturing environment is required. Candidates with less experience will not be considered.

• 6+ years of experience preferred, with strong proficiency in SMT soldering and rework techniques.

• IPC-A-610 and IPC J-STD-001 certification (active or expired) required.

• Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).
