Job Description

JOB TITLE: FAA Component Repair 
LOCATION: 
Trumbull, CT
PAY RATE: $23.50/hour

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Job Details:

Qualifying Questions:

  • Do you meet the educational and experience requirements for this role?

Summary: 

  • Work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Use precision measuring tools (feeler gauges, dial indicators, micrometers, calipers).

  • Repair detail components by filing, stoning, lapping, and polishing.

  • Operate power and hand tools for drilling, sanding, and riveting.

  • Document evaluation results clearly and communicate repair requirements for in-house and outsourced work.

  • Adhere to all EH&S requirements, FAA/EASA regulations, and company policies.

  • Follow procedures in component maintenance manuals, service bulletins, ORIs, OREIs, drawings, and check sheets.

  • Use torque wrenches competently and understand SAC torque specification SS9300.

  • Apply chemical treatments to repaired surfaces per approved data.

  • Interpret paperwork to ensure proper part identification, operational sequence, and accurate recordkeeping.

  • Perform drilling, reaming, tapping, stud changes, helicoil installation, and bushing/liner installation via shrink fitting or arbor press.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Automotive trade school preferred

  • FAA Airframe license preferred, but not required

  • Strong mechanical aptitude

  • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation

  • Knowledge of component repair processes and tooling

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
