Job Description

JOB TITLE: Design Engineer - Mechanical Test
LOCATION: Orlando, FL
PAY RATE: $51.59/hour

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Job Details:

  • Job Type: Contract (12 months with potential for extension)

Qualifying Questions:

Summary: 

Responsibilities include detailed mechanical design and drafting of test stations, design changes, and general CAD modeling. This role also involves designing vibration fixtures for units under test and fixtures for thermal testing.

Requirements:

  • This is a clearance-eligible position; candidates must be able to obtain an interim Secret clearance (not required to start).

  • Minimum 5 years of experience with Creo for 3D modeling, including creating models of CCAs, harnesses, and cables

  • At least 5 years in mechanical or electromechanical design

  • Minimum 1 year of experience with Windchill

  • Understanding and application of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)

  • Proficiency in 3D modeling (CREO experience required)

  • Knowledge of optical physics

  • Familiarity with precision machining

  • Experience delivering design review presentations

  • Candidates must be local to the Orlando, FL site, as this position requires the contractor to be onsite approximately 50% of the time

  • Ability to apply geometric tolerancing principles effectively

  • Coordination experience with documentation teams and test engineering packaging groups

  • Experience with Zuken software 

  • Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).
