Job Description

JOB TITLE: Sr. Avionics Systems Technician
LOCATION: Mesa, AZ
PAY RATE: Up to $45/hour

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Qualifying Questions:

Summary: 

  • Fabricate, assemble, and test aircraft systems and components, including electrical, wire harnesses, and flight controls.

  • Perform splicing, crimping, and electrical system installation.

  • Fabricate and assemble composite parts and structures.

  • Operate standard shop tools and machinery.

  • Record job status, time spent, and material tracking in an ERP system and time management system.

  • Follow instructions precisely to complete complex assemblies accurately.

  • Read and interpret Engineering Orders (E.O.s), blueprints, and Manufacturing Work Instructions (MWIs).

Requirements: 

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Hands-on experience with aircraft fabrication and assembly.

  • Knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.

  • Experience in inspection, maintenance, installation, modification, and repair of composite structures and aircraft systems.

  • Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve system issues.

  • Skilled in fabrication, assembly, and installation of aircraft components and systems, including landing gear, flight controls, pneumatics, hydraulics, and environmental control systems.

  • Electrical systems installation expertise: layout, wire harness buildup, splicing, crimping, installing, connecting, and system checkout.

  • Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License strongly preferred but not required.

  • Hands-on experience in a precision, manual manufacturing environment strongly preferred.

  • Knowledge of acceptable defects and non-destructive inspection methods.

  • Strong understanding of FOD control and tool control.

  • Experience with quality inspection points and process documentation.

  • Consistent daily attendance is essential.

  • Ability to think creatively, meet schedules, and adapt to project demands.

  • Strong team player with the ability to take direction well.

  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality.

  • Excellent listening, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing philosophies and tools (a plus).

  • Experience with manufacturing-based ERP systems (a plus).

  • Strong safety mindset, including proper handling of hazardous materials, chemicals, and tools.

  • Comfortable with manual/physical labor in a non-temperature-controlled environment.

  • Familiarity with FAA AC 43.13-1B guidelines.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
