JOB TITLE: Assembly Mechanic - Fuselage I4
LOCATION: Wichita, KS
PAY RATE: $56-57/hour

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Summary: 

  • Assemble, install, seal, rig, inspect, and complete precision and structural/system components using drawings, documents, process specifications, and quality control requirements.

  • Perform functional tests, fit form and function of assemblies and components.

  • Obtain information from prints, charts, sketches, work instructions, verbal, and electronic sources.

  • Apply shop mathematics and use precision measuring or test instruments to complete assignments.

  • Utilize tooling for assembly of sub-assemblies or end items.

  • Verify work meets process and engineering specifications; document and resolve discrepancies.

  • Ensure equipment and tool certifications per procedure.

  • Perform routine minor machine maintenance (filters, lubrication, coolant, basic TPM duties).

  • Move product within the work area using shop equipment and complete required production transactions.

  • Complete tasks within scheduled timelines.

  • Support continuous flow of production, assist and train employees across classification levels.

  • Cross-train in inspection; become SIA Level B qualified.

  • Set up and operate conventional or CNC fastening equipment (<3-axis simultaneous movement).

  • Apply specialty skills in:

    • Assembly/Installation of Structures

    • Sealer/Sub-Assembly

    • Doors, Integral Fuel Cell Sealing

    • Precision Bench Assembly

    • Pressure and vacuum testing

  • Must have Multi-Layer Layup and Fuselage Integration experience.

Requirements:

  • Proficient in reading and interpreting drawings, charts, sketches, and work instructions.

  • Hands-on experience with assembly, installation, sealing, rigging, and inspection of precision and structural components.

  • Skilled in functional testing, fit/form verification, and discrepancy identification.

  • Knowledge of shop mathematics, precision measuring, and test instruments.

  • Experience with tooling, sub-assemblies, and end-item integration.

  • Ability to perform minor machine maintenance and basic Total Preventive Maintenance (TPM).

  • Competent in operating conventional and CNC fastening equipment (<3-axis simultaneous movement).

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
