JOB TITLE: Aerospace Upholstery Technician III - 2nd Shift
LOCATION: Savannah, GA
PAY RATE: $28.75/hour

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Summary: 

  • Fabricate and install seat covers, curtains, and various upholstery assemblies and subassemblies.

  • Interpret material specifications, engineering drawings, and design requirements to ensure finished products meet quality and technical standards.

  • Sew, fabricate, and install interior panel covers while maintaining safety, quality, and productivity objectives.

  • Use the Corridor material tracking system to generate parts demand, track discrepancies (squawks), and complete work sign-offs.

  • Cut and install custom-designed carpets with advanced patterns based on engineering drawings and design requirements.

  • Assume Lead-level responsibilities when required by overseeing projects and coordinating task delegation with technicians.

  • Support safety initiatives by conducting and assisting with safety audits.

  • Help maintain shop equipment and associated Job Safety Analyses (JSAs).

  • Promote and enforce Safety, 5S, and housekeeping standards to protect aircraft interior components (PTP).

  • Mentor and train junior technicians while monitoring work quality, safety, and productivity.

  • Collaborate with Lead Technicians to support process improvement efforts using Lean Six Sigma methods to reduce cost, cycle time, and labor hours.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

  • Minimum of 4 years of upholstery experience, including at least 2 years of aircraft upholstery experience, or 6 years of commercial upholstery experience.

  • Advanced knowledge of upholstery, sewing processes, and products, including experience installing custom carpets.

  • Working knowledge of inspection, process specifications, and industry terminology preferred.

  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English proficiently.

  • Ability to interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical documentation.

  • Basic computer literacy required.

  • Ability to climb ladders and stairs, work in confined spaces, lift up to 40 pounds, and work any assigned shift.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
