Job Description

JOB TITLE: Aircraft interiors - Free Housing Support

LOCATION: North Charleston, SC

PAY RATE: $38.00 per hour

Summary:

  • Perform machine setup, machining, welding, sheet metal fabrication, tube bending, and related tasks.

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and instructions for selecting parts, materials, and tools for interior installations.

  • Knowledge of surface preparation, cleaning, masking for rework, and decorative interior repair methods (e.g., painting, sweep and fill).

  • Handle non-standard work, troubleshoot, and develop solutions with limited direction.

  • Ensure high housekeeping standards; maintain an organized, FOD-free work area.

  • Basic computer proficiency and clear communication with internal and external teams.

  • Physical requirements: head/neck rotation, bending, twisting, standing, climbing, and lifting (under 10 lbs).

  • Requires use of personal safety gear, color perception eye exam, and work in elevated/confined spaces indoors/outdoors.

Required Skills:

  • 1+ years following detailed instructions, reading blueprints, and interpreting specifications in English.

  • Variable shift availability (1st, 2nd, or 3rd).

  • 7+ years in aerospace, fabrication, or manufacturing with decorative finishes and interior modifications.

  • Skills in filing, sanding, painting, laminate application, and cosmetic rework (e.g., color/texture matching).

  • Non-managerial role; candidates with aviation experience or aviation degrees preferred.

Desired Skills:

  • 7+ years’ experience in aerospace cabin interiors (e.g., galleys, lavatories, seats, liners) or equivalent education/experience.
