Job Description

JOB TITLE: Aircraft Upholstery Technician II 
LOCATION: Savannah, GA
PAY RATE: $25.65/hour

Job Details:

  • Contract Length: 12 months (with potential extension)

Qualifying Questions:

Summary: 

  • Fabricate and install flat panels, curtains, and covers using design/engineering drawings and aircraft specifications.

  • Sew covers and work with materials such as fabric, vinyl, leather, and composites.

  • Cut and surge carpets, and cover/install panels, bulkheads, and windows.

  • Fabricate and fit various metal parts, cabin headliners, sidewalls, and hatch panels.

  • Use the material tracking system (Corridor) to manage parts demand, track issues, and sign off completed work.

  • Collaborate with lead technicians to develop process improvements, enhancing safety, reducing costs, and improving cycle time using Lean Manufacturing techniques.

  • Comply with safety, 5S, and housekeeping policies, and use personal protective equipment.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • 2 years of experience using commercial sewing machines, sergers, and hand tools in upholstery and carpet trades

  • Aerospace industry experience preferred

  • Ability to read, write, and understand English proficiently.

  • Ability to interpret blueprints and engineering documents.

  • Competent in using measuring tools and performing basic math calculations.

  • Must be computer literate.

  • Capable of climbing ladders, working in confined spaces, lifting up to 40 lbs, and working any shift.
