Job Description

JOB TITLE: Aircraft Systems Assembler - HOT

LOCATION: North Charleston, SC

PAY RATE: $38.00 per hour.

Screening Questions to highlight in resume and include in write up:

  • Do you have experience pulling panels for fuel, doors, wings or cargo?

  • Which of the following do you have 7+ years of aerospace systems experience with:

  • hydraulics

  • ICS (internal communicaction systems)

  • PECS (portable environmental control systems)

  • IFE (in-flight entertainment)

  • interior decorative repair

  • waste and potable water systems.

Summary: 

  • Use a computer in a production environment.

  • Look up/read/comprehend technical work instructions, drawings and/or specifications.

  • Install various parts and assemblies such as landing gear, aircraft control surfaces, exterior panels, carpets, blankets, roller trays/ball mats, stowbins, sidewalls, ceiling panels, lavatories, galleys, doors, and seats.

  • Install various aircraft system components such as tubing, valves, regulators, actuators, compressors, and ducts.

  • Appropriate protective clothing/equipment determined by the task you are performing.

  • Operate mechanical lifts of various types (e.g. ladders, tiger and snorkel lifts).

  • Various tools such as Rivet gun and bucking bar, screwdrivers, lock bolt puller, power screwdriver, C-squeeze, ratchet wrench, nut runner, Winslow, 90-Degree Power Vane, or Quackenbush and various other hand tools.

  • Chemical solvents, sealants, coatings, primers, adhesives, paints and special finishes

  • Inspect your work quality and check for FOD (Foreign Object Debris).

  • Use of high impact vibratory tools (bucking/riveting).

  • Climbing/balancing (stairs, ladders, poles, scaffolding, inclined surfaces), Crawling, Crouching (squatting),

  • Working around energized sources (electrical equipment and hazards/shock, e.g. circuit breakers and wiring) and exposure to constant noise.

  • Finger manipulation (keyboarding, other).

  • Reading from a computer screen, printed drawings or documents.

  • Ability to adhere to high standards of Safety and Compliance to regulation

  • Carrying/Lifting up to 10-35 pounds

  • Flexion/Extension (head bent down, head bent back), Handling, Kneeling, Bending at the waist, Reaching (overhead), Rotation of head/neck, Standing, Twisting at the waist and walking.

Required Skills:

  • They are looking for SYSTEMS and MECHANICAL repair, fabrication and manufacturing... this is not a structures mechanic - this is interior systems

  • 7+ years of aerospace systems experience with hydraulics, ICS, PECS, duct installation, IFE, interior decorative repair, waste and potable water systems.

  • Install various aircraft system components such as tubing, valves, regulators, actuators, compressors, and ducts.

  • Various tools such as Rivet gun and bucking bar, screwdrivers, lock bolt puller, power screwdriver, C-squeeze, ratchet wrench, nut runner, Winslow, 90-Degree Power Vane, or Quackenbush and various other hand tools.

  • Must be proficient in using Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook, etc.

  • Ability to work a variable shift (1st, 2nd, or 3rd)

  • Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. High School diploma/GED).

  • Performs complex production assembly operations on structural parts, mechanical assemblies, subassemblies and aircraft systems, equipment and accessories using manual or automated assembly tools.

  •  

    No less than 7 years of experience on aircraft repair

  • They are looking for SYSTEMS and MECHANICAL repair not structures

  • Landing gear, pulling and replacing exterior panels, doors, seats, lavatories, galleys, actuators, compressors, ducts, valves, regulators

  • And experience with panels for cargo panels, ceiling panels, fuel panels, wing panels

Desired Skills:

  • 10+ years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
