PAY RATE: $45.00/hour

Qualifying Questions:

Summary: 

  • Performs close tolerance drilling, reaming, removal, and installation to critical support structures and fracture critical areas.

  • Locates blind holes necessary for installation of new structural items to existing structure.

  • Performs sealing, painting, shimming, and preserving structure in accordance with standard repair processes.

  • Reads and interprets engineering drawings, technical orders, process specifications, and retrofit requirements to perform structural modification or repair.

  • Uses tooling assemblies and fixtures for depot level modification and repair of structural parts.

  • Works with non-porous metals including aluminum, titanium, and stainless for structural modifications.

  • Uses structures hand tools such as drills (45 and 90 degree), pancake adapters, counter sink cages, hole finders, and rivet guns.

  • Performs heavy structures work including locating, drilling, countersinking, and fastening structures such as doublers, stringers, webs, and seat tracks.

  • Accesses aircraft data via computer systems and initiates on-line parts and discrepancy requests.

  • Applies knowledge of aircraft sheet metal and structural modification and repair techniques.

Requirements:

  • Ability to Obtain a Secret Security Clearance.

  • 4+ years of experience working with non-porous metals such as aluminum, titanium, and stainless.

  • 4+ years of experience working with schematics, specifications, assembly drawings, and standard operating procedures.

  • 4+ years of experience using structures hand tools including drills (45 and 90 degree), pancake adapters, counter sink cages, hole finders, and rivet guns.

  • 4+ years of experience working heavy structures including locating, drilling, countersinking, and fastening structures (doublers, stringers, webs, seat tracks).

  • Ability to ascend and descend vertical work ladders, work in confined spaces, and lift loads of approximately 35 pounds.

  • Ability to pass visual acuity and color perception tests.

  • Ability to handle, use, and dispose of hazardous materials.

  • Preferred: Experience in aircraft heavy maintenance (B-52 or Depot Level).

  • Preferred: Experience working with titanium aircraft structures.
