Job Description

JOB TITLE: Aircraft Structural Mechanic I
LOCATION: Tulsa, OK
PAY RATE: $21.21/hour

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Qualifying Questions:

Summary: 

  • Assemble and fit structural detail parts; perform drilling and riveting operations

  • Use tools such as portable riveting guns, pneumatic drills, countersinks, rivet shavers, files, and reamers

  • Read and follow work orders, blueprints, sketches, and operation sheets

  • Align and assemble parts using jigs, clamps, pins, and holding fixtures

  • Verify all assemblies are free from defects prior to final inspection

  • Enter labor transactions into the resource planning system accurately

  • Maintain logs and records such as MIR sheets, DMTs, Crabs, and PCOs

  • Keep work area clean and organized; comply with 5S and safety regulations

  • Support Lean activities and continuous improvement efforts

  • Participate in improvement initiatives such as Kaizen events and YIAW

  • Maintain and care for tools and equipment as directed

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • 1 year of structural assembly experience required

  • Experience with Solumina and SmarTeam preferred

  • Completion of Savannah Tech Aircraft Structures Technical Certificate Program may substitute for 1 year of experience

  • Basic knowledge of aircraft structures, sheet metal, and fabrication processes

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and a 6" scale

  • Basic computer and shop math skills

  • Ability to read and understand documents and instructions in English

  • Must possess strong hands-on mechanical aptitude and attention to detail

  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs

  • Able to work any shift, including climbing ladders, stands, and stairs

  • Able to work in small or restricted spaces

  • Must demonstrate professionalism, teamwork, and time management skills

  • Ability to work with composite resins and materials

  • Must follow housekeeping and safety practices

  • Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).
