JOB TITLE: Aircraft Structural Mechanic I
LOCATION: Savannah, GA
PAY RATE: $25.65/hour

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Summary: 

  • Perform safe assembly, fitting, drilling, and riveting of structural parts and assemblies

  • Layout, fabricate, and install sheet metal and structural components on aircraft

  • Rivet structural assemblies using required tools (riveting guns, pneumatic drills, countersinks, shavers, reamers, files, etc.)

  • Remove fasteners without damaging structure

  • Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, sketches, and operation sheets

  • Align and assemble parts using jigs, fixtures, clamps, pins, and fasteners

  • Perform repairs and rework per DMTs, MRRs, and PCOs

  • Inspect work to ensure defect-free assemblies prior to final inspection

  • Maintain accurate production logs and records (MIRs, DMTs, CRABS, PCOs)

  • Maintain a clean and safe work area in support of 5S and safety programs

  • Properly handle and dispose of waste materials and fluids

  • Accurately charge labor to aircraft

  • Coordinate work activities across shifts and participate in turnover meetings

  • Assist with maintaining shop equipment and JSAs

  • Support Lean initiatives and perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • Minimum 2 years of related structural assembly experience

  • Experience with Solumina and SmarTeam preferred

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents

  • Basic computer skills and shop math (including reading scales)

  • Ability to work with composite materials, resins, adhesives, sealants, and solvents

  • Strong attention to detail, professionalism, and teamwork

  • Ability to work any shift

  • Ability to climb ladders/stands/stairs, work in confined spaces, and lift up to 50 lbs

  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
