JOB TITLE: Aircraft Structural Mechanic II - Free Housing Support
LOCATION: San  Antonio, TX
PAY RATE: $35-$40/hour

Summary: 

  • Seeking a Structures Mechanics to support the VC-25B Program in San Antonio, TX.

  • This role involves maintaining, repairing, and modifying aircraft structures, with a focus on heavy structures work and precision assembly.

  • This is a hands-on, non-managerial position requiring advanced technical skills in aircraft structures maintenance and repair.

Required Skills:

  • 4+ years in heavy structures, including non-porous metals like aluminum, titanium, and stainless steel.

  • Hands-on experience with schematics, specifications, and assembly drawings.

  • Expertise in using structural tools (e.g., drills, rivet guns, hole finders).

  • Familiarity with heavy structures tasks such as drilling, countersinking, and fastening components like doublers, stringers, and seat tracks.

  • Strong proficiency in shop mathematics, technical schematics, and operating procedures.

  • Proficient with computer systems for accessing technical documents and performing online parts requests.

  • Physical ability to work in confined spaces, elevated platforms, and handle heavy lifting.

  • Must pass visual acuity, color perception tests, and hazardous material handling.

  • Ability to maintain required certifications for safety and operational standards.

  • U.S. citizenship or ability to meet customer clearance requirements (dual citizenship may restrict access).

  • English fluency (reading, writing, comprehension).

  • Flexible to work shifts, including weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.

Desired Skills:

  • FAA Airframe and/or Power Plant license preferred.

  • Recent experience with VIP aircraft, executive fleet platforms, or specialty interiors.

  • 10+ years in depot-level maintenance or heavy structures work.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to ascend/descend ladders, balance on uneven surfaces, and work in confined spaces.

  • Frequent standing, reaching, and exposure to elevated platforms and noise.

  • Occasional tasks requiring finger manipulation, squatting, or lying down.

  • Must handle weights up to 35 lbs independently or coordinate 2-person lifts over 50 lbs.
