JOB TITLE: Aircraft General Maintenance - DEFENSE
LOCATION: San Antonio, TX
PAY RATE: $35-40/hour

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Qualifying Questions:

Summary: 

  • Perform flight control installation, removal, and rigging, including landing gear servicing

  • Complete component change-outs (servo pumps, filters, engine components, etc.)

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical orders, and retrofit requirements for structural modification/repair

  • Access aircraft data via computer systems and submit parts and discrepancy requests

  • Prioritize workload to meet program schedules and deadlines

  • Follow Hazardous Energy and Lockout/Tagout procedures for safe operations

  • Use all equipment in accordance with safety and operating procedures

  • Support multi-discipline teams (Avionics, Structures, Electrics) to meet cost/schedule targets

  • Diagnose and correct assembly process malfunctions

  • Use precision measuring tools to verify dimensions and quality compliance

  • Must successfully complete training assessment requirements

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of experience in Depot Level / Heavy General Aircraft Maintenance

  • 4+ years working with aircraft systems (hydraulic, flight controls, landing gear, fuel systems, engines, interior/exterior systems)

  • 4+ years interpreting schematics, specifications, assembly drawings, and SOPs

  • Experience using computer systems to access aircraft data

  • Ability to work varied shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required

  • Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs (occasional team lift >50 lbs)

  • Work in confined spaces, elevated platforms, ladders, and uneven surfaces

  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, climbing, and overhead reaching

  • Exposure to noise, metals, hazardous materials, and PPE requirements

  • Must pass visual acuity and color perception tests

  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English

  • Must maintain required certifications and training

  • Regular and predictable attendance required

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with engine runs and borescope inspections

  • Ability to operate tugs, forklifts, cranes, and elevating work platforms

  • Experience with REDARS and/or Gold-ESP systems
