Job Description

JOB TITLE: Aircraft Final Line Mechanic II 
LOCATION: Savannah, GA
PAY RATE: $28.75/hour

Summary: 

  • In a team environment, install parts, components, and systems according to specifications, ensuring final inspection compliance.

  • May assist in mentoring junior mechanics.

  • Assemble, install, and adjust aircraft structure parts and system components.

  • Rig control cables, linkages, landing gear, doors, engines, and related parts.

  • Replace system components, cut and fit lines, and perform necessary repairs.

  • Ensure installations meet quality, efficiency, and conformity standards.

  • Install system lines, valves, and ducts to ensure a leak-free system.

  • Use tools like permaswage pumps, dies, and wrenches to complete component installations.

  • Assist in troubleshooting and basic repairs.

  • Maintain logs and records and ensure defect-free installations.

  • Check own work and mentor junior mechanics for accuracy.

  • Maintain a clean work area and comply with safety regulations.

  • Demonstrate manufacturing competencies and support continuous improvement.

  • May include flight tests during certification and final phase testing.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

  • 3 years aerospace/aviation or equivalent mechanical experience (e.g., auto mechanics, heavy equipment).

  • A&P (FAA Airframe and Powerplant) license preferred.

  • Ability to climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Solumina and Smarteam experience preferred.

  • Ability to read blueprints and schematic diagrams.

  • Skilled in close tolerance work (e.g., drilling, reaming) and use of special tools.

  • Ability to operate hydraulic mule pumps, fixtures, and jigs.

  • Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).
