JOB TITLE: Aircraft Electrical Mechanic – Level 3 – DEFENSE
LOCATION: San Antonio, TX
PAY RATE: $40/hour

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Qualifying Questions:

Summary: 

  • Perform connector terminations, including shielded wires, coaxial cables, and fiber optic wiring.

  • Route and handle harnesses per instructions.

  • Seal, wrap, bond, tie, and close wire harnesses/cables to standard processes.

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical orders, specifications, and retrofit requirements to perform modifications/repairs.

  • Use tooling, assemblies, and fixtures for depot-level modifications and wiring repairs.

  • Assemble, install, inspect, and modify wire bundles and electrical assemblies.

  • Conduct operational and quality checks of aircraft systems.

  • Troubleshoot malfunctions in aircraft electrical and comm/nav systems.

  • Follow work instructions, blueprints, wire diagrams, sketches, and layouts.

  • Safely operate tools, materials, and powered elevating equipment.

  • Maintain certifications, licenses, and permits as required.

  • Perform duties of lower-level classifications as needed.

Requirements:

  • Must be able to obtain a secret clearance during onboarding (A comprehensive background check covering finances, residences, employment, drug use, military service, and criminal history will be required).

  • HS Diploma/GED required.

  • Regular and predictable attendance required.

  • 10+ years of experience with aircraft electrical/electronic theory, avionics systems, shop math, and practices.

  • 10+ years of experience with schematics, specifications, assembly drawings, and SOPs.

  • 10+ years of experience in aircraft installation, repair, modification, testing, and troubleshooting of systems.

  • Ability to work variable shifts, weekends, and overtime.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).

Physical & Work Requirements:

  • Ability to climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and lift ~35 lbs (two-person lift for >50 lbs).

  • Frequent standing, walking, reaching, balancing, and overhead work.

  • Occasional crawling, squatting, bending/stooping, and sitting for extended periods.

  • Exposure to elevated platforms, noise, metals, and hazardous materials.

  • Must use PPE (face, eyes, ears, hands, arms).

  • Must pass visual acuity and color perception tests.

  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend English.

  • Maintain required training/certifications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Avionics and depot-level/modification maintenance experience.

  • Experience operating forklifts, cranes, and powered elevating equipment.

  • FAA Airframe and/or Power Plant certification.
