JOB TITLE: Aircraft Electrical Mechanic – Level 2 (Defense) – Onsite Interview Required
LOCATION: San Antonio, TX
PAY RATE: $35/hour

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Job Details:

  • Job Type: Contract (12 months with potential for extension)

  • Shift: Rotating (1st, 2nd, or 3rd; weekends/OT as needed)

  • Clearance: Secret clearance required (post start).

Qualifying Questions:

Summary: 

  • Perform on- and off-aircraft electrical modifications, installations, and repairs.

  • Complete complex connector terminations (shielded wires, coaxial cables, fiber optics).

  • Route, seal, wrap, bond, tie, and close wire harnesses/cables per standard processes.

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and retrofit requirements.

  • Troubleshoot electrical/environmental systems at depot or organizational level.

  • Perform operational testing and troubleshooting per DOD, manufacturer, and company directives.

  • Use tooling assemblies, fixtures, and precision measuring instruments to ensure quality.

  • Lead or assist team members (General Mechanics, Structures, Avionics) to meet cost/schedule targets.

  • Train and mentor junior employees as required.

  • Maintain certifications, licenses, and adherence to FOD/Tool Control and Hazardous Energy procedures.

Requirements: 

  • Secret clearance required (post start).

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.

  • 4+ years of relevant experience performing described duties.

  • 4+ years of knowledge in electrical/electronic theories and systems.

  • Ability to work rotating shifts (1st, 2nd, or 3rd).

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).

Physical Requirements:

  • Ascend/descend vertical ladders, work in confined spaces, lift 35 lbs (two-person lift for >50 lbs).

  • Frequent standing, walking, overhead reaching, balancing, bending/stooping, squatting, and crawling.

  • Operate foot controls for extended periods.

  • Exposure to noise, metals, and elevated platforms.

  • Must pass visual acuity and color perception tests; use PPE as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Depot Level/Modification maintenance experience.

  • Ability to operate forklift, mobile crane, and powered elevating equipment.
