JOB TITLE: Aircraft Composite Mechanics 
LOCATION: Wichita, KS
PAY RATE: $41.00/hour

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Summary: 

  • Operates impregnating, perforating, cutting, roll form, press, and curing machines, and testing equipment in the fabrication of composite materials and core details.

  • Loads, unloads, and operates ovens and autoclaves in the curing of parts and assemblies.

  • Operates portable repair and bonding equipment to accomplish rework, repair, or change incorporation on completed assemblies.

  • Performs moisture removal, double vacuum debulk, overlay repairs, and applies precured patches.

  • Performs secondary bonding, edge trimming, sanding, heat blanket operations, scarfing, and thermal cure for repairs of less than 400 square inches.

  • Disassembles and prepares assemblies to accomplish rework, repair, or change incorporation on completed assemblies.

  • Performs 3 Axis CNC machining operations for composite parts.

  • Follows established processes and procedures for composite material fabrication and core details.

  • Applies composite repair and bonding techniques to completed assemblies.

  • Operates portable repair equipment for composite rework and repair tasks.

Requirements:

  • Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).

  • Composite experience in aerospace manufacturing.

  • 3 Axis CNC machining experience.

  • Computer skills for equipment operation and documentation.

  • Ability to stand and work for the entire shift.

  • Experience operating ovens and autoclaves for composite curing.

  • Experience with portable repair and bonding equipment for composite rework.

  • Experience with composite repair techniques including moisture removal, debulk, overlay repairs, precured patches, secondary bonding, edge trimming, sanding, scarfing, and thermal cure.

  • Ability to disassemble and prepare assemblies for rework or repair.
