JOB TITLE: Aircraft Composite Mechanic
LOCATION: Wichita, KS
PAY RATE: $41/hour

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Job Details:

Qualifying Questions:

Summary: 

  • Perform advanced fabrication, rework, and repair of nonmetallic aircraft parts and assemblies

  • Apply expertise in bonding techniques, scarfing, ply identification, vacuum bagging, and thermal processing for composite structures

  • Perform scarf repairs involving 20+ plies, full-depth/double-sided laminates, varying scarf ratios, and high-contour aircraft structures (stringers, frames, spars, etc.)

  • Execute vacuum bagging and thermal cure processes, including high-contour, double bagging, and cure temperatures up to 375°F

  • Perform repairs and rework in accordance with engineering intent using electronic work instructions, specifications, model-based definitions, and MRB dispositions

  • Verify dimensions using mechanical and electronic precision measurement tools and perform first article inspections (FAI) as needed

  • Capture and validate measurement data to meet engineering and configuration requirements

  • Inspect fabricated and procured parts and document non-conforming conditions for MRB action

  • Perform process surveillance and maintain required quality records and certifications

  • Utilize and interpret CAD/CAM tools (or similar systems) to support fabrication and repair activities

  • Coordinate with Engineering and cross-functional teams to support materials, processes, and repair development

Requirements:

  • Structural Composite Repair Certification (TR009348) required

  • Strong experience with composite fabrication, repair, scarfing, ply identification, vacuum bagging, and thermal curing

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally on short notice, including extended durations

  • Must comply with FAA Anti-Drug and Alcohol testing requirements for safety-sensitive work

  • Must successfully pass initial repair station screening before starting work

  • Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).
