Job Description

JOB TITLE: Aircraft Component Technician
LOCATION: 
Trumbull, CT
PAY RATE: $23.50/hour

Qualifying Questions:

Summary: 

  • This is a safety-sensitive position requiring participation in an FAA-approved Drug and Alcohol screening program.

  • Perform disassembly, cleaning, evaluation, repairs, modifications, and assembly of aircraft components in compliance with approved data.

  • Work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Use precision measuring instruments (feeler gauges, dial indicators, micrometers, calipers).

  • Repair components by filing, stoning, lapping, and polishing.

  • Operate power and hand tools for drilling, sanding, and riveting.

  • Clearly document evaluations and communicate repair requirements.

  • Adhere to EH&S requirements, FAA & EASA regulations, and company policies.

  • Follow component maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and related technical documents.

  • Properly use torque wrenches and understand SAC torque specifications (SS9300).

  • Chemically treat repaired surfaces per approved data.

  • Review paperwork to ensure accurate part identification and operational sequencing.

  • Perform drilling, reaming, tapping, stud changes, helicoil installations, and bushing/liner installations.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

  • Automotive trade school preferred.

  • FAA Airframe License preferred but not required.

  • Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).
