Summary:
Responsible for troubleshooting, repair, and service of aircraft components, including but not limited to landing gear, flight controls, sheet metal structures, NDT and small part painting, as assigned.
This position will perform maintenance, disassembly, rework, repair, replacement, re-assembly, and adjustments of various aircraft systems and structures in compliance with technical specifications, engineering instructions and FAA regulations, under the direction of the Component Shop/Engineering Manager.
The ideal candidate will have a much disciplined planning and time management approach.
Inspect, repair, and overhaul aircraft components and systems as assigned in compliance with specifications and FAA regulations
Troubleshoot system and component malfunctions and perform necessary maintenance work or re-work using various tools and diagnostic devices
Remove and replace defective components
Sheet metal inspection and repairs
Composite/paint inspection and repairs
Maintain all pertinent documentation – logbooks, 8130’s, and historical data as required
Other duties as assigned
Required Skills:
MUST HAVE STRUCTURAL COMPONENT REPAIR EXPERIENCE HIGHLIGHTED ON RESUME
Airframe & Powerplant (A&P Certificate), preferred
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Minimum experience of two (2) years in aircraft maintenance or component work preferred
Working knowledge of Federal Air Regulations (FAR’s)
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
Willing and able to work rotating shifts including nights, holidays and weekends
Possess the legal right to work in the United States
Ability to read, write, fluently speak and understand the English language
Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
Extensive knowledge of aircraft accessories, components and other hardware.
Basic Math and Measurement Skills
Mechanical Experience, Preferred; own hand tools helpful
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a consistent basis
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
While performing the responsibilities of the MRO Aircraft Mechanic, the employee will be on their feet, standing, reaching with hands and arms and walking the majority of their work day.
50% of their job duties will require the ability to: climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl.
The noise level is usually moderate.
At times, some heavy lifting may be required, up to 50 lbs.
As such, safe lifting techniques should be used, and a request for assistance should be made to a co-workers or a supervisor.
