JOB TITLE: Aircraft Avionics Technician
LOCATION: Maxwell AFB, AL
PAY RATE: $35.00-47.00/hour

Summary: 

  • Assembles, disassembles, and modifies aerospace vehicle systems by changing, removing, replacing, or upgrading components to correct failures or implement changes.

  • Troubleshoots complex pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems to isolate mechanical or electrical faults and repair faulty components.

  • Performs validation and verification testing of systems and components.

  • Documents procedures and established processes to ensure contractual and regulatory compliance for repairs, test results, modifications, and inspection results.

  • Inspects components and verifies repairs for flight worthiness requirements.

  • Troubleshoots integrated conventional weapons systems, electronic and electromechanical components, fire control systems, electro-environmental systems, subassemblies, Alternate Mission Equipment, and test equipment.

  • Performs maintenance, repair, inspection, fabrication and modification of integrated conventional weapons systems, electronic and electro-mechanical components, fire control systems, electro-environmental systems, and their subassemblies.

  • Removes and installs integrated conventional weapons systems electronic components, fire control systems, electro-environmental systems, bomb navigation systems, and subassemblies.

  • Accomplishes configuration changes of integrated conventional weapons control, launch, release, and suspension assemblies on assigned aircraft and equipment based on mission requirements.

  • Performs explosive operations including loading, unloading, positioning, arming, and safing conventional air munitions and pyrotechnics on assigned aircraft and equipment.

Requirements:

  • Active Secret security clearance required to start.

  • Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • 3 to 5 years of significant military avionics experience on any platform.

  • Experience troubleshooting, repairing, testing, and configuring avionics and weapons systems on aircraft.

  • Experience with maintenance, repair, and inspection of integrated conventional weapons systems, electronic and electro-mechanical components, fire control systems, and electro-environmental systems.

  • Experience performing operational, functional, and final testing of avionics and weapons systems.

  • Experience with configuration changes of weapons control, launch, release, and suspension assemblies.

  • Experience with explosive operations including loading, unloading, arming, and safing air munitions and pyrotechnics.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) for documentation and reporting.
