JOB TITLE: Aircraft Assembly Technician
LOCATION: Kinston, NC
PAY RATE: $36/hour

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Summary: 

  • Perform repetitive and non-repetitive production assembly operations on electronic and/or mechanical assemblies and subassemblies, including modules, boards, panels, drawers, frames, and cables

  • Assemble and install parts using blueprints, diagrams, drawings, specifications, work orders, and changes to meet quality requirements

  • Create initial layouts and use hand tools, power tools, jigs, saws, and portable machines

  • Perform continuity checks on work in process and completed assemblies

  • Conduct quality inspections in accordance with established specifications

  • Disassemble, modify, rework, reassemble, and test production, experimental, or prototype assemblies under specified or simulated conditions

  • Complete required data gathering and system transactions to support assembly progression

  • Set up and perform manual and automated assembly operations

  • Perform pickup, rework, fabrication, change incorporation, functional testing, and checks during or after assembly

  • Move and obtain correct parts, materials, tools, and assemblies as needed

  • Use precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions and conformance

  • Identify, report, and assist in investigating job issues such as part errors, tooling problems, procedural gaps, or sequence issues

  • Perform routine minor machine maintenance as part of basic Total Preventive Maintenance (TPM) duties

    • Replace filters

    • Change standard machine light bulbs

    • Maintain lubrication and coolant levels

  • Move product within the immediate manufacturing area, including across aisles, using assigned equipment

  • Complete required transactions to move product to the next operation

  • On an exception basis, move product to the next operation within the building

  • Support continuous product flow by training, coaching, and assisting other employees

  • Document discrepancies according to specifications, processes, and procedures

  • Train toward MVP qualification

  • Perform additional duties as assigned, with training and certification provided as required

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
