JOB TITLE: Aerospace Systems Safety Engineer 4
LOCATION: Everett, WA
PAY RATE: $83.75/hour

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Qualifying Questions:

Summary: 

  • Leads Safety Lessons Learned investigations to identify systemic root causes and contributing factors for safety issues.

  • Performs Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) analysis to prevent recurrence of safety issues on future designs.

  • Coordinates with functional groups, management, executives, suppliers, and production to align on safety investigation processes.

  • Investigates design, manufacturing, maintenance, and operational processes across functional groups to develop company-level solutions.

  • Coordinates with FAA to ensure regulatory visibility of safety investigations and actions.

  • Partners with Enterprise Safety and Safety Management Systems (SMS) to continuously improve processes and tools.

  • Evaluates safety issues including airplane design performance, published operational and maintenance guidance, and human factors.

  • Applies knowledge of commercial airplane operation, certification, and safety requirements.

  • Uses working knowledge of Continued Operational Safety reporting processes per 14 CFR 21.3 requirements.

Requirements:

  • Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).

  • Bachelor, Master, or Doctorate of Science degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry from an accredited course.

  • Project management knowledge.

  • Experience with commercial airplane operation, certification, safety requirements, and procedures.

  • Working knowledge of Continued Operational Safety reporting processes per 14 CFR 21.3 requirements.

  • Experience working with FAA or other regulatory agencies.

  • Experience in Commercial Airplane-Systems design or analysis (e.g., Flight Controls, Hydraulics, Avionics, Fuels) or Systems Integration.

  • Preferred: 3+ years related work experience (Mid-Level) or 5+ years (Senior) or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and complex projects for safety investigations.
