JOB TITLE: Aerospace Stress Engineer
LOCATION: Wichita, KS
PAY RATE: $78/hour

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Summary: 

  • Plan, organize, and prioritize work to meet project deliverables

  • Perform detailed stress analysis of metallic and composite fuselage components using classical hand calculations and Finite Element methods (FEA)

  • Review and analyze design changes, including fatigue, static, and DT loads

  • Generate stress substantiation reports

  • Develop or review structural qualification plans per OEM standards and regulatory requirements

  • Review and approve vendor drawings, stress reports, and test reports as needed

  • Coordinate with design engineers, team leads, suppliers, and management to ensure compliance with project and regulatory requirements

  • Present stress findings and challenge design solutions during design reviews

  • Compile progress reports to communicate deliverable objectives

  • Demonstrate strong work ethic and sense of urgency in completing assignments

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Structural, or Design Engineering

  • 3–5 years of experience in aerospace stress engineering

  • Experience with metallic and composite structures

  • Proficiency in static, fatigue, and transient analysis using classical methods and Finite Element methods (FEA)

  • Hands-on experience with Nastran, Patran, Abaqus, or similar analysis tools

  • Strong knowledge of Engineering Mechanics and Strength of Materials

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project PC tools

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience with fuselage structures

  • Experience reviewing vendor documentation and structural qualification plans

  • Ability to coordinate across multi-disciplinary teams in a fast-paced aerospace environment
