Job Description

JOB TITLE: Aerospace Manufacturing Engineer III
LOCATION: Savannah, GA
PAY RATE: $62/hour

Summary: 

  • Lead teams to analyze, plan, and improve manufacturing processes, including layout, production flow, tooling, equipment, material fabrication, and assembly methods in Production or Post-Production environments.

  • Conduct technical studies and analyze operations; recommend equipment and optimized manufacturing methods for complex assemblies and components.

  • Author detailed work instructions and DRDI/DMT rework instructions to support zero-defect manufacturing and corrective actions.

  • Create MBOM in SAP/Solumina/Corridor to ensure proper assembly of all parts.

  • Generate make-or-buy proposals; evaluate vendors and recommend corrective actions.

  • Conduct research, investigations, and analyses to ensure conformance to requirements.

  • Prepare justification for equipment and facility requests; perform producibility studies from engineering drawings.

  • Apply statistical methods to forecast manufacturing requirements and generate reports.

  • Prioritize workloads, provide completion estimates, and allocate resources effectively.

  • Stay current on manufacturing developments and integrate Lean Manufacturing methodologies.

  • Develop business cases for process improvements and present to management.

  • Lead projects across multiple organizations; assign, supervise, and train subordinate personnel.

  • Apply Lean and Six Sigma principles to improve manufacturing methods.

  • Support Safety, Sustainability, and Ergonomic initiatives.

  • Ensure quality policies are followed and recommend improvements.

  • Assume ME Group Head duties in their absence.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 4+ years of manufacturing engineering, planning, or related technical experience.

  • Proven knowledge of Lean and/or Six Sigma principles.

  • Knowledge of engineering configuration requirements, tooling, quality control, plant safety, blueprint reading, and shop math.

  • Proficiency with CADAM, CATIA, Solumina, SAP, Corridor, and other computerized systems.

  • Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing concepts: 5S, JIT, SMED, KanBan, VSM, One Piece Flow.

  • Six Sigma or other data-driven decision-making experience preferred.

  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, equivalent certification, or demonstrated experience highly desirable.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
