JOB TITLE: Aerospace Manufacturing Engineer II
LOCATION: Savannah, GA
PAY RATE: $55/hour

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Qualifying Questions:

Summary: 

  • Conduct complex technical studies and analyze manufacturing operations (existing and proposed)

  • Develop recommendations for equipment, production methods, and process improvements

  • Create detailed work instructions to optimize efficiency and drive zero-defect manufacturing

  • Author rework instructions (DRDI/DMT) to support corrective actions

  • Develop and maintain Manufacturing Bills of Material (MBOM) in systems such as SAP or Solumina

  • Perform productibility studies and support Design for Manufacturing (DFM) efforts

  • Apply statistical methods to forecast manufacturing requirements and generate reports

  • Support vendor evaluations, negotiations, and issue resolution

  • Investigate and justify equipment and facility needs

  • Audit processes and outputs to ensure compliance with manufacturing standards

  • Lead or coordinate cross-functional projects with minimal supervision

  • Apply Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to improve manufacturing processes

  • Support safety, sustainability, ergonomic, and business continuity initiatives

  • Ensure adherence to quality policies and recommend improvements

  • Maintain accurate reporting of daily and weekly activities

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

  • 18+ months of experience in Manufacturing Engineering, planning, or a related technical role

  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma principles

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints

  • Familiarity with tooling, quality control, plant safety, and shop math

  • Experience with systems/tools such as SAP, Solumina, CATIA, Corridor, or similar

  • Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification or higher

  • Strong collaboration and leadership skills in cross-functional environments
