JOB TITLE: Aircraft Structures Sheet Metal Mechanic 
LOCATION: Wichita, KS
PAY RATE: $55-56/hour

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Summary: 

  • Assemble and install structural/system components using drawings, work instructions, and technical documentation

  • Interpret prints, charts, sketches, and electronic/verbal instructions to complete assignments

  • Use precision measuring tools, shop math, and test instruments to validate assemblies

  • Utilize tooling and equipment to build sub-assemblies and end items

  • Verify work meets engineering and process specifications; identify and document discrepancies

  • Maintain tool and equipment certifications and perform basic preventative maintenance

  • Move products within the manufacturing area and complete required production transactions

  • Meet production schedules and support continuous workflow

  • Train and assist team members across all classification levels

  • Support and train others in assembly, installation, and inspection techniques

  • Cross-train in inspection and obtain SIA qualification

  • Verify dimensions using mechanical and electronic measurement tools and document corrective actions

  • Perform full inspection duties, including first article/first part reviews

  • Initiate and document non-conformance conditions for Material Review Board (MRB) action

  • Conduct process surveillance to ensure compliance with requirements

  • Prepare and maintain quality records and certifications

  • Set up and operate conventional and CNC fastening equipment (e.g., MTGR, Brotje, C-Frames, IPAC)

  • Provide high-level technical support and leadership in assembly and installation processes

Requirements:

  • Specialty Skill Areas (two or more required):

    • Assembly/Installation of Doors

    • Integral Fuel Cell Sealing

    • Precision Bench Assembly

    • Pressure and Vacuum Testing

  • 11+ years of structures/sheet metal experience

  • Strong knowledge of aircraft structural assembly, sealing, and installation

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings

  • Proficiency with precision measurement and inspection tools

  • Experience with CNC fastening/assembly equipment

  • Ability to pass plate test

  • Leadership and mentoring experience

  • Ability to work any shift, including overtime/weekends

  • Able to lift, stand, and perform physical tasks as required

  • Available to start immediately

  • Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).
