JOB TITLE: Solder Assembler - 1st Shift 
LOCATION: Oldsmar, FL
PAY RATE: $/hour

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Summary: 

  • Perform high-mix SMT and through-hole soldering on printed circuit boards (PCBs) in accordance with work orders, engineering drawings, and IPC standards

  • Remove, replace, and rework components, including bottom-terminated devices (QFNs, BGAs, LGAs) using hot air pencils, hot plates, reflow ovens, and specialized rework stations

  • Conduct X-ray inspection of reworked bottom-terminated components to evaluate solder joint integrity and document results

  • Perform board-level verification, including visual inspection, AOI, and X-ray, as well as functional testing to ensure conformance to specifications

  • Interpret and follow engineering change orders (ECOs) and bills of materials (BOMs)

  • Apply strict build-to-print practices where required

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5+ years of hands-on SMT and through-hole solder assembly experience in a high-mix, low-volume environment (aerospace, defense, or similar)

  • IPC-A-610 certification (6+ years preferred) – Required

  • IPC-J-STD-001 certification (6+ years preferred) – Required

  • IPC-WHMA-A-620 certification – Preferred

  • Advanced soldering expertise (6+ years)

  • Strong proficiency in soldering and rework of complex electronic components

  • Experience using advanced rework equipment and inspection tools

  • Ability to sit for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs (11 kg)

  • Vision acuity (corrected or uncorrected) sufficient for detailed microscope work

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
