PAY RATE: $26/hour

Summary: 

  • Seeking an experienced Solder Assembler with strong expertise in SMT and through-hole soldering.

  • Perform high-mix SMT and through-hole soldering on PCBs per work orders, engineering drawings, and IPC standards.

  • Rework and repair components—including QFNs, BGAs, LGAs, and other bottom-terminated devices—using hot air pencils, hot plates, reflow ovens, and specialized rework stations.

  • Conduct X-ray inspection of reworked components, evaluate solder-joint integrity, and document results.

  • Perform board-level verification (visual, AOI, X-ray) and functional testing to ensure compliance with specifications.

  • Interpret and follow ECOs, BOMs, and apply “build-to-print” practices as required.

  • Support high-mix, low-volume production for aerospace and defense electronics, requiring high attention to detail and quality.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of high-mix SMT and through-hole soldering on PCBs.

  • Proficient in removing, replacing, and reworking QFNs, BGAs, LGAs using hot-air pencils, hot plates, reflow ovens, and rework stations.

  • Skilled in X-ray inspection of bottom-terminated components and documenting solder-joint integrity.

  • Experience with visual, AOI, and X-ray verification, as well as functional board testing.

  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, work orders, ECOs, and BOMs (build-to-print).

  • IPC certification (IPC-A-610, IPC-J-STD-001, or equivalent).

  • Ability to sit for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs (11 kg).

  • Adequate visual acuity for microscope-based work (corrective lenses acceptable).

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).

Desired Skills:

  • Experience in aerospace, defense, or other high-reliability, low-volume electronics environments.

  • Strong background in precision soldering and PCB rework.

  • Familiarity with specialty rework tools and inspection systems (AOI, X-ray).
