JOB TITLE: Aerospace Avionics Technician - DEFENSE 
LOCATION: Maxwell AFB, AL
PAY RATE: $35-47/hour

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Summary: 

  • Assemble, disassemble, modify, and repair aerospace vehicle systems and components

  • Troubleshoot complex pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, electro-mechanical, and avionics systems to isolate and correct malfunctions

  • Perform maintenance, repair, inspection, fabrication, and modification of integrated conventional weapons systems and avionics components

  • Remove and install avionics systems, fire control systems, electro-environmental systems, bomb navigation systems, and associated subassemblies

  • Perform operational, functional, electrical, mechanical, and final testing of aircraft systems and components

  • Support configuration changes to weapons control, launch, release, and suspension assemblies based on mission requirements

  • Perform explosive operations including loading, unloading, arming, and safing conventional air munitions and pyrotechnics

  • Configure aerospace vehicles and bench test equipment

  • Document maintenance procedures, inspections, repairs, test results, and modifications to ensure contractual and regulatory compliance

  • Inspect completed repairs and verify flight worthiness requirements

  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in accordance with established procedures

  • Support flightline operations and ongoing aircraft maintenance activities

  • Assist with training and mentoring team members as needed

Requirements:

  • Ability to obtain a security clearance

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Military aviation avionics experience

  • Experience using maintenance documentation, forms, and maintenance databases

  • Experience using special tools and test equipment related to avionics systems

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work multiple shifts as needed

  • Ability to work under general supervision and in fast-paced operational environments

  • Must be able to perform work in all areas of the helicopter

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds

  • Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time

  • 1st Shift: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

  • 2nd Shift: Monday–Thursday, 3:00 PM – 1:00 AM

  • Weekend shifts may be available for comp time opportunities

  • Potential for future 3rd shift schedule

  • Must be a U.S. citizen to comply with security clearance requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • U.S. Air Force aviation maintenance experience

  • Helicopter maintenance experience

  • Flightline operations experience

  • Prior military helicopter experience strongly preferred

  • Experience supporting integrated weapons systems and avionics maintenance
