Job Description

JOB TITLE: Materials & Processes Engineer
LOCATION: Tusin, CA
PAY RATE: $75/hour

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Summary: 

  • Develop and improve materials and process specifications to ensure consistent composite component performance.

  • Provide technical assessments to Quality and Manufacturing for process deviations and non-conformances.

  • Advise Design on appropriate composite material selection based on performance, manufacturability, and vehicle integration.

  • Review drawings and models to verify correct materials and manufacturing notes.

  • Draft and revise materials and process specifications.

  • Troubleshoot manufacturing and supplier issues related to composite processes and specifications.

  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, and cross-functional teams on projects.

Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering or Physical Science (ABET-accredited or equivalent).

  • 5+ years experience with aerospace materials, composites, and plastics.

  • Experience with composite manufacturing processes, including out-of-autoclave methods.

  • Knowledge of materials/process specifications and composite testing methods.

  • Familiarity with statistical analysis of test data.

  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; strong team player.

  • Willing to work all shifts, overtime, and weekends as needed.

  • Up to 25% travel to suppliers for technical support.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 7+ years experience with aerospace composite materials.

  • Experience with bond prep, surface treatments, bonded assemblies, and repair processes.

  • Experience authoring/revising M&P specifications and conducting Design of Experiments (DOE).
