JOB TITLE: Software Engineer – Artificial Intelligence Level 5
LOCATION: Cambridge, MA
PAY RATE: $124.50/hour

Summary: 

  • Design, develop, document, and implement AI algorithms and models, ensuring ethical considerations and minimizing potential biases.

  • Evaluate and leverage AI tools to improve code generation and application to avionics software.

  • Collect, clean, preprocess, and analyze large datasets to ensure data quality, reliability, and actionable insights.

  • Train, evaluate, optimize, and monitor AI models for performance, scalability, and production deployment.

  • Conduct Safety Risk Management for AI models in accordance with organizational standards.

  • Integrate AI models into production environments and continuously monitor, validate, and improve them.

  • Partner with cross-functional teams and domain experts to gather feedback and iterate AI solutions.

  • Research and implement emerging AI technologies, frameworks, and regulations to advance organizational capabilities.

  • Contribute to AI design practices and knowledge sharing across the team.

  • Oversee the design, development, and deployment of AI algorithms and models.

  • Lead a small technical team to accomplish milestones and advance AI software capabilities.

  • Communicate progress, technical hurdles, proposed solutions, and team updates to leadership.

  • Mentor and guide junior engineers in technical engineering activities.

  • Utilize automated testing frameworks (e.g., Google Test, PyTest) for efficient test execution.

  • Understanding of CI/CD practices and experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD) to optimize workflows is a plus.

  • Collaborate with HIL teams to integrate software with hardware-in-the-loop testing environments.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years in software engineering, or Master’s degree with 1+ year experience.

  • Familiarity with AI frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) is a plus.

  • Strong experience in C, C++, Python, or other modern programming languages.

  • Familiarity with ADA or avionics software is a plus.

  • Research publications in AI are a strong plus but not required.

  • Strong teamwork, documentation, and communication skills; thrives in fast-paced, high-tech environments.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education or experience in AI algorithms and/or use of AI tools.

  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance if sponsored.
