OB TITLE: Software Engineer - Test & Verification Level 4
LOCATION: Cambridge, MA
PAY RATE: $89.50/hour

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Job Details:

  • Job Type: Contract (12 months with potential for extension)

Summary: 

  • Lead the setup and configuration of test environments, including hardware, software, and network configurations to replicate production environments.

  • Design, develop, and execute test plans, cases, and scenarios to ensure software quality, reliability, and functionality.

  • Review and validate software requirements, test objectives, and strategies with stakeholders.

  • Identify and report defects, issues, and potential vulnerabilities during testing processes.

  • Provide feedback on software design and functionality to resolve defects and improve system performance.

  • Develop and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks to increase efficiency.

  • Perform software project management across test and verification activities involving cross-functional teams.

  • Set up and maintain Hardware-In-the-Loop (HIL) automation systems for system-level software and hardware testing of avionics platforms.

  • Collaborate with CI/CD (DevSecOps) teams to integrate software deployment with HIL environments.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry, plus 3+ years of software engineering experience; or Master’s degree with 1+ year of experience.

  • Lead test environment configuration and advise on setup best practices.

  • Utilize automated testing frameworks and AI tools in HIL development (familiarity a plus).

  • Proficient in NI TestStand, NI VeriStand, and NI LabVIEW, or similar HIL platforms.

  • Hands-on experience with NI PXIe systems and hardware integration.

  • Knowledge of avionics communication protocols (MIL-STD-1553, ARINC 429, CAN) is a plus.

  • Verify and validate avionics display systems.

  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in fast-paced development environments.

  • Strong programming skills in C/C++, Python, MATLAB, or similar.

  • Familiarity with FPGA testing/architecture, data acquisition, signal processing, and version control systems (e.g., Git).

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with modern HIL techniques and/or use of AI tools.

  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance if sponsored.
