JOB TITLE: Structures Skin Remove and Replace Mechanic

Summary: 

• Assembles, installs, seals, rigs, and inspects precision structural and system components using drawings, process specifications, and quality control requirements.

• Functional tests and corrects fit, form, and function of assemblies and components.

• Obtains required information from prints, charts, sketches, work instructions, documents, and verbal or electronic data.

• Uses shop mathematics and precision measuring instruments to complete work assignments and functional tests.

• Utilizes tooling in the assembly of components into sub-assemblies or end items.

• Verifies work per work instructions and engineering specifications and identifies discrepancies per applicable procedures.

• Performs routine minor machine maintenance including filter replacement, bulb changes, and lubrication or coolant level maintenance.

• Sets up and operates conventional and CNC fastening equipment of less than simultaneous 3-axis movement, including drivematic processes.

• Performs one or more specialties: Assembly or Installation of Structures, Sealer, or Sub Assembly.

• Performs one or more specialty skills: Assembly or Installation of Doors, Integral Fuel Cell Sealing, Precision Bench Assembly, or Pressure and Vacuum testing.

Requirements:

• Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).

• Experience assembling, installing, sealing, rigging, and inspecting structural and system components per engineering specifications.

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, process specifications, and work instructions.

• Proficiency in using shop mathematics and precision measuring instruments for functional testing.

• Experience setting up and operating conventional and CNC fastening equipment.

• Skill in at least one of: Assembly or Installation of Structures, Sealer, or Sub Assembly.

• Skill in at least one of: Assembly or Installation of Doors, Integral Fuel Cell Sealing, Precision Bench Assembly, or Pressure and Vacuum testing.

• Ability to verify work against work instructions and engineering specifications and identify discrepancies.

• Experience performing routine machine maintenance and total preventative maintenance tasks.

• Ability to train and assist other assembly personnel in assembly, installation, and inspection techniques.
