We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Job Details:

  • Job Type: Contract (12 months with potential for extension)

  • Shifts: 1st and 2nd – must be flexible

Qualifying Questions:

Summary: 

  • Perform inspections, disassembly, reassembly, and depot-level rework/repair of F/A-18 aircraft or Flight Control Surfaces.

  • Disassemble and repair flight control structural components, including horizontal flaps.

  • Maintain 3000 tolerances on drilled holes and pick up blind hole locations.

  • Drill, ream, fill, remove, and install fasteners on structural and composite assemblies.

  • Assemble new and old parts together with attention to detail.

  • Perform close-tolerance assembly operations, including shimming, fitting, trimming, and aligning.

  • Replace ribs, stiffeners, stringers in skinned assemblies using blueprints and callouts.

  • Correct cans, buckles, wrinkles in outer skins.

  • Perform corrosion identification, cleaning, and treatment under supervision.

  • Utilize composite drilling techniques; knowledge of composite materials preferred.

  • Operate common hand tools (drills, reamers, deburrers, files, rivet guns, bucking bars, etc.) and jigs/fixtures.

  • Operate precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, dial indicators).

  • Accurately document maintenance and repair actions, logs, and parts requests.

  • Comply with safety regulations, tool control, health standards, and shift requirements.

  • Collaborate effectively with team members, management, and other personnel.

  • Navigate basic computer systems, including Microsoft Office.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; applicable certifications preferred.

  • 3+ years of aircraft structures or flight control experience.

  • Ability to perform heavy depot rework and close-tolerance drilling/reaming.

  • Knowledge of flight control structural components and assemblies.

  • Strong attention to detail and precision in measurements and assembly.

  • Ability to work on 1st or 2nd shift with overtime as needed.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).

 

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with composite materials and assemblies.

  • Previous F/A-18 or military aircraft experience.

  • Experience in corrosion removal, sealing, and shimming operations.
