Job Description

JOB TITLE: Mechanical/Electrical Technician
LOCATION: New Orleans, LA
PAY RATE: Up to $36/hour

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Job Details:

  • Job Type: Contract (12 months with potential for extension)

  • Shifts: 1st Shift (6:00 AM–2:00 PM) or 2nd Shift (2:30 PM–10:30 PM)

  • Industry: Aerospace / Defense / Aviation

Qualifying Questions:

Summary: 

  • Perform machining, welding, sheet metal fabrication, composite lay-up, tube bending, wiring, and assembly of precision mechanical/electro-mechanical components.

  • Work includes reading 2D/3D CAD models, using hand/power tools, soldering, crimping, building prototypes, and installing sensitive avionics and instrumentation.

  • Position requires working in Safety/FOD-sensitive and Controlled Work Areas, following strict quality, safety, FAA, and company standards.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma/GED

  • 1 year related experience (or equivalent).

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and precise measurement skills.

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and CAD models.

  • Hands-on experience in mechanical/electrical systems (aerospace, automotive, or military preferred).

  • Military background, 3+ years fabrication/assembly, and soldering/welding/sheet metal experience preferred.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
