Summary:
Evaluate and qualify electrical, electronic, and electro-mechanical components for use in aerospace assemblies.
Support subcontractors and suppliers to ensure compliance with Boeing requirements and applicable specifications.
Apply experience with harsh environment/high-reliability design, including aerospace, medical device, automotive, or industrial applications.
Utilize knowledge of connectors, wiring, and cable fabrication, including cable/harness installation and integration.
Provide engineering support for new product development and legacy programs, recommending appropriate alternate components.
Requirements:
Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance (not required to start)
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry and 9+ years of related experience (or equivalent: Master’s + 7 years, PhD + 4 years).
Electrical design and/or testing experience with components, wiring harnesses, connectors, and cables.
5+ years of hands-on experience in wiring design, cables, and connectors as a primary responsibility.
Experience in military aerospace disciplines (defense contractor or military background), especially Electrical Wiring Interconnection Systems (EWIS).
Strong familiarity with military and aerospace electrical specifications (MIL-SPECs).
Understanding of aircraft and weapons systems to recommend appropriate alternate electrical components.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with project management tools to manage cost, schedule, and performance.
Working knowledge of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), LEAN, and Quality principles.
Experience developing work statements, defining technical strategies, and providing consultation across engineering teams.
Significant experience with military and industry specifications related to electrical systems and components.
