JOB TITLE: Structural Design Engineer

LOCATION: Greensboro, NC

PAY RATE: $62.00 - $75.00 per hour

Summary: 

• Provide structural engineering design for primary and secondary metallic and composite aircraft structures.

• Develop structural layouts, concepts, and load paths with initial stress calculations.

• Design primary and secondary structures to meet certification and aircraft requirements.

• Coordinate with systems engineering, manufacturing, production, and quality teams.

• Conduct design reviews and present structural solutions.

• Interface with vendors and suppliers as needed.

• Ensure adherence to program schedules, cost targets, and regulatory standards.

• Select materials and standards compliant with industry norms and requirements.

Required Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering with 7 years of experience, or equivalent experience required in lieu of degree.

• Experience in structural design for Part 23 or 25 certification.

• Proficiency in CATIA v5 (including CPD module), Teamcenter, and GD&T.

• Knowledge of composite part design; CATIA kinematics and FEM modules preferred.

• Strong understanding of aircraft structures, systems integration, and supplier management.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and technical requirements writing.

• Demonstrated technical communication skills.

• Meet program schedules, deliverables, and first-time design quality.

• Communicate effectively to align with stakeholder requirements.

• Own tasks from concept to final design.

• Adhere to cost targets for recurring and non-recurring expenses.

• Execute trade studies to optimize technical performance.
