Summary:
Primary duty is to set up machines and fabricate metal parts by operating, repairing, and performing preventive maintenance on mechanical equipment.
Use blueprints and design sketches to ensure the proper dimensions and tolerance levels of the finished product.
Possess knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the aerospace industry.
Rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform job functions.
Work under immediate supervision.
Primary job functions typically do not require exercising independent judgment.
Usually reports to a supervisor or manager.

Attach two or more components to meet drawing and specification requirements.
Assist in second operations in the machine shop by tapping, deburring, reaming internal diameters, or sharpening tools to meet scheduling conflicts.
Machinists may be utilized in inspection due to workload.
This position will report to the Quality Control Manager.
Using a variety of hand tools and machines, this position is responsible for machine hardware.
It is also the machinist's responsibility, via their supervisor, to provide quality hardware with on-time delivery.
Required Skills:
Technical or trade school certification.
Machine shop with several other workers.
PPO required as a result.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
Prolonged standing, walking, and moving heavy objects expected.
Experience with Okuma, Mazak, Fanuc, and Siemens controls.
High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
Technical or trade school certification.
Experience with Okuma, Mazak, Fanuc, and Siemens controls.
Mathematical skills.
Communication skills.
Reasoning skills (troubleshooting).
Computer skills.
Analytical skills (troubleshooting).
Analytical and reasoning skills are beneficial when troubleshooting non-conformance issues and/or machine accessory issues.
