Job Description

JOB TITLE: Sr. Avionics/Elec Technician
LOCATION: Savannah, GA
PAY RATE: $36.04/hour

Summary: 

  • Lead avionics and electrical operations, including testing, troubleshooting, and repairs, to ensure systems meet safety and quality standards.

  • Requires advanced technical expertise, leadership skills, and schedule adherence.

  • Support aircraft certification and final-phase testing, including flight tests.

  • Maintain and operate test equipment in compliance with engineering changes.

  • Perform self-inspections and ensure accurate documentation.

  • This role suits a skilled avionics professional with strong leadership capabilities and a focus on safety, quality, and operational excellence.

  • Lead testing, troubleshooting, and repairs of avionics/electrical systems.

  • Train and mentor team members to build a skilled workforce.

  • Ensure quality, efficiency, and adherence to engineering specifications during installations and repairs.

  • Perform and oversee system testing, documentation, and conformity checks.

  • Implement and enforce safety programs (FOD control, tool control, 5S standards).

  • Adapt to schedule changes and coordinate with other disciplines.

  • Conduct pre-inspections to minimize rework and maintain timelines.

Required Skills:

  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • Six (6) years in avionics/electrical field, or

  • Two (2) years accredited schooling in aviation electronics + four (4) years related experience.

  • Ability to interpret blueprints, engineering specifications, and schematic diagrams.

Desired Skills:

  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) License (preferred).

  • FCC License and NCATT Certification (preferred).

  • Proficiency in troubleshooting non-avionics systems (e.g., hydraulics, landing gear).

  • APU and engine run qualifications (preferred).
